1914 Royal Sunbeam Ladies Bicycle (25 inch Frame) with Three-Speed Gear

This Ladies Sunbeam has had new wheels and tyres fitted and was in regular use when I purchased it last year.

The paintwork is in good condition and it’s a very attractive bicycle. The nickel plating is the best I’ve seen on a bicycle this old.

As you can see in the picture below, it’s the rarer three-speed model (though the gear control trigger fitted is a two-speed one, on the left side of the handlebars, above).

The saddle is a Brooks B73 with a patterned top.

This is a reliable bike ready for riding.

The price of the all-black Ladies Royal Sunbeam with 2-speed gear in 1914 was 13 guineas, ie £13 13/-
The 3-speed gear added an extra guinea to the price.
