1939 Falke Gentleman’s Bicycle
Though many of the German bicycles I’ve received have been restored by Patrick because they were so cosmetically-challenged, the paintwork on this attractive Falke appears to have withstood the ravages of time.
So Pat has left the paint intact on the Falke, and only restored it mechanically.
The picture below illustrates Falke’s unusual quick-release system for removing the handlebars.
The Falke name still seems to be used on German bicycles, but pre-war examples are rare, and I’ve not yet managed to find any information on the company’s history.
